Topics include probability, random variables and distributions, expectations and variances, sampling distributions, law of large numbers, central limit theorem, hypothesis testing (z, t, chi-square, etc.), analysis of variance, covariance and correlation, and linear regression. We will use R, a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics, for some of the homework problems. The weekly 實習課 led by TAs is mainly for teaching R and also for problem solving.
