This course aims to primarily assist international freshmen to learn about the study and living at colleges in Taiwan. A few local students are also welcome to join this course and mingle with their foreign colleagues. The course will cover several sections, including: (1) NTU and the learning resources, (2) Taiwan and the education systems, (3) living in Taiwan, and (4) study abroad programs at NTU. Each section consists of several specific topics to enrich the contents. Due to the pandemic, we will move our first three lectures online. Students should join the gathering through Google Meet at https://meet.google.com/sug-fvcq-ffb. If you would like to join this course, please show up at the first meeting on September 23rd. Priority will be given to international students and overseas Chinese, especially students who have difficulty communicating in Mandarin.

1. Assist the students in learning and living at colleges in Taiwan; 2. Guide the students to use all available learning and living resources for their college lives; 3. Inspire students to acquire critical thinking and communication skills and explore themselves through hands-on experiences, discussing, debating and brainstorming; 4. Bring international and local students together.

The students are required to actively participate all of the activities and home-work assignments. The students are encouraged to contact the instructors before and after the class for proper assistance.

2 hours for thinking topics or preparing presentation (total 3 times).
