載入中- 課程概述The lectures and discussions will focus on recent research (within 5 years) in the field of neurodegeneration. Students will be assigned relevant paper according to the topics listed below for discussion. 1.Introduction: Overview of Neurodegeneration 2.Neurodegenerative Disorders- Molecular Mechanisms -Genetic Links -Intracellular Mechanisms: Deranged Calcium Signaling -Intracellular Mechanisms: Deregulated Protein Degradative Pathways -Intracellular Mechanisms: Reduced Axonal Transport 3.Programmed Cell Death and Neurodegeneration -Apoptosis -Autophagy 4.Intracellular Trafficking and Neurodegeneration 5.Pathology of Neurodegenerative Disorders 6.Therapeutics for Neurodegenerative Disorders
- 課程目標This course is based on lectures and discussions on recent research in the field of neurodegeneration. Lectures and discussions explore the pathology, molecular mechanisms, and therapeutic aspects of neurodegenerative disorders. Topics include the intracellular mechanisms regulating neuron maintenance, as well as neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Peripheral neuropathies, etc. Through literature reading and group discussion, the students should understand the recent discoveries in the field of neurodegeneration.
- 課程要求Students are expected to give oral presentations in class based on a selected journal article from the reading list. There is one final exam or oral presentation. Attendance is required at all class meetings.
