已選上0/40外系已選上0/0剩餘名額0已登記0- 課程概述English Writing for Academic Pursuit familiarizes students with academic writing skills (e.g., summarizing, paraphrasing, paragraph structuring) and with respect to study-related genres: cover letters, curriculum vitae, autobiography, and SoP. Students will be provided with opportunities to cultivate their writing capabilities; to this end, students will be engaged in authentic case analyses and hands-on writing tasks via collaborative learning. 欲加選本課的同學請留意:本課加退選制度採電腦自動加退選,搭配第一周出席的同學可登記候補名單,於第三周線上加退選結束之後,視實際選課人數,酌量開放名額抽籤,以人工加簽的方式加選本課。僅限第一周有出席登記名單的同學可參與抽籤。
- 課程目標This course enables students to produce a portfolio where they adopt the learned skills to produce their study-related documents and tailor the writing to their target audiences. The ultimate goal is to encourage students to marry their inner selves with their professional images, to put their personal interests into professional perspectives, and to map out their academic visions and ambitions in light of accessible resources.
- 課程要求1. No more than three absences are permitted. (不得缺席超過三次) 2. Late assignments will be penalized. (遲交作業皆扣分) 3. No auditors are allowed. (不開放旁聽) 4. Active participation in class discussions is required. (需積極參與小組討論與發言) 5. Email the class TA and course instructor to request leave of absence. (請假事先告知)

Students will conduct TWO peer evaluations on Resume & CV respectively. No male-up is allowed.
20% Autobiography/ Personal Statement
Students can choose which type of document they want grading.
25% Statement of Purpose
Students can choose to submit a general SOP or one specific to the desired institution.
20% Attendance & Participation
10% for each category; deducting 3 points for every absence (except for Covid-related issues)
