NTU Enrollment Status
Enrolled0/15Other Depts0/0Remaining0Registered0- Course DescriptionThis course is designed primarily for first-year foreign degree-seeking and visiting students. Meanwhile, it welcomes local students to experience Taiwanese culture together as well. The lecture opens with a course and self-introduction before splitting students into groups for field trips afterward. We will visit different locations every week starting March 6. Students will form groups of five, and each contains one local plus four foreign members. The point of interest visiting may include but is not limited to the night market, temples, museums, eco-park, firefly watching, old streets, historical relics, and rarities in Daan, Wanhua, Beitou, as well as Datung districts. Each group needs to send their PPTs to the instructor one day beforehand and do the ten-minute presentation on the next occasion of the meeting. The instructor will summarize and conclude the reports in the second-hour lecture.
- Course Objective1. Help international students to overcome the language barrier. 2. Make friends and develop relationships with local students through collaborative projects and cultural exchange. 3. Guide international students on utilizing all available resources to enjoy/enrich their college lives. 4. Encourage students to freely explore themselves, develop critical thinking, time management skills, and express abilities.
- Course RequirementAttendance is expected. If you find that you must miss class, do file the leave of absence on my NTU. You are allowed one free absence in this course. After that, each unauthorized absence will fail the course. Students must participate in every field trip and summarize a 10-minute group report to be presented in the class next week. Each student will take turns stepping up to the podium in the five discussions.
