  • Course Description
    This course is designed to develop advanced professional nursing competencies in community health nursing, focusing on the strategies for aggregate and community analysis and program evaluation related to community health nursing practice. The role of the master’s prepared community health nurse is analyzed and practiced. Substantive knowledge, theory and research are emphasized as the basis for clinical application.
  • Course Objective
    The objectives of this course are to enable the student to: 1. analyze the interrelationships among the health of families, aggregates, and communities; 2. analyze the goals and objectives of community health nursing as they relate to meeting the health needs of clients (aggregates, communities); 3. analyze the impact of structure and process characteristics of the community on health; 4. synthesize knowledge of community structure, process and outcomes to assess the level of community health; 5. identify current issues in community health nursing practice; 6. understand the trends and policies of national/global health.
