Based on the framework of preventive medicine (three levels and five stages), this course includes the following contents. Primary prevention aims for health promotion (e.g., nutrition and exercise, etc.) and specific protection (e.g., vaccination, removing environmental risk factors, preventing occupational and accidental injury). Secondary prevention aims for early diagnosis and proper treatment (e.g., identification of pre-clinical cases, disease screening, and health checkups). Tertiary prevention aims to restrict disability (e.g., treatment to prevent disease worsening, complications, and development of secondary disease) and rehabilitation (e.g., psychological, physiologi-cal, and occupational therapy and long-term care).

Students are expected to 1) Learn the theory and practice of preventive medicine based on three levels and five stages (FD13, FD14, FD31, FD41-43) 2) Understand essential strategies for health promotion and specific protection in primary prevention.
