    • 最高學歷：美國布朗大學博士 (2010) 美國哈佛大學東亞系 交換學者 經歷： 美國 布朗大學 歷史系講師（2009-2010） 美國 羅德島州立大學 歷史系 講師 （2008-2011） 美國 康乃狄克大學 歷史系 助理教授 （2010-2013） 我的研究主題可概分為下列三項： 1. 晚清到民國史 2. 民間宗教與地方政治 3. 19世紀至20世紀地方社會研究 我對歷史研究的興趣始於探討由常民發動之集體運動 (collective action)在整體歷史論述中的重要性，而我的終極關懷則在於想為歷史論述中的弱勢族群發聲。這樣的研究興趣將我帶領到地方歷史(local history)的研究脈絡中。我主要的問題意識有二，首先：在地方社會的脈絡中，到底是什麼樣的動力可以讓一般人組織起來去跟更大的歷史變遷過程進行互動。復次，身為一個歷史家又可以如何透過結合地方文獻資料與田野研究去挑戰民族國家與菁英論述所主導建構的歷史解釋。 本人的博士論文即以十九世紀中葉至廿世紀中葉浙江省溫州市的歷史為例去說明宗教（包括地方民間宗教與19世紀中葉以後重新進入中國的基督教與天主教）在地方政治中所發揮的作用，去重新理解宗教在形塑中國政治文化與現代性(modernity)過程中所扮演的關鍵性角色。

  • Course Description
    本課程內容與建構方式基本上仿造美國各大學歷史系普遍提供之survey「通史」課程。課程的呈現方式，將著重以中華人民共和國境內普通人民ordinary people 的「日常生活經驗」的變遷以及歷史發展與書寫策略的對應來進行討論。

  • Course Requirement
    Course requirements consist of lectures, short essays, and a final exam. In addition, regular attendance at lecture will be necessary to make sense of the vast temporal, geographic, and thematic sweep of the course.
