  • Course Description
    This course consists of a series of seminars on econometrics and statistics. They include topics in empirical economics, applied econometrics, and applied statistics. Scholars at the research frontiers are invited to present their research results. Besides the knowledge in economics, econonetrics, and statistics, students are expected to learn how to conduct research, write research papers, and present research results. The seminars of the Center for Research in Econometric Theory and Applications (CRETA) at the National Taiwan University (NTU) will be listed in the econometric seminar schedule.   • Course Objective
    This course provides a platform for researchers and students to interact with each other, in order to nurture high quality research. This course is sutiable for advanced undergraduate and graduate students who are planned to be researchers in the academia or the related industries.
  • Course Requirement
    Students are required to choose one seminar paper and write a report on it. The report should consist of at least 3 parts: i. paper summary; ii. literature review; iii. comments. For example, based on the paper summary and literature review, students may comment on what the paper could contribute to the literature. Besides these 3 parts, the report may include discussions on the related papers, books, and literature. The report should be at least 4 pages long. Please do not commit plagiarism.
  • Expected weekly study hours before and/or after class
    Students are expected to read the research papers (before and after the seminars) and attend the seminars. There will be attendence check.
