It emphasizes theoretical aspects of causal inference, the importance of research design, and identification strategies. In addition to identification strategies, this course also explores nonparametric statistical methods and their applications in empirical economic research. - Course ObjectiveBy the end of this course, students will be able to: Understand and apply the potential outcome framework in empirical research. Identify and address selection bias in observational studies. Estimate causal effects using various econometric techniques, such as local average treatment effects, marginal treatment effects, regression discontinuity, and difference-in-difference. Learn important concepts in nonparametric statistics.
