The course's objectives are to gain essential academic writing skills and knowledge. The course focuses on English reading, writing, speaking, and listening for academics. We will explore (1) academic writing components, (2) various forms of academic writing, and (3) presentation and communication of academic knowledge.
- Course ObjectiveAt the end of the course, students will be able to: (1) Understand essential components of academic writing, including efficient reading, note- taking, project management, referencing management, search strategies, revisions, illustration, AI tools, etc. (2) Recognize different forms of academic writing and presentation such as case, report, thesis, memo, academic paper, public speech, panel presentation, poster presentation, etc. (3) Apply different writing and presenting skills to real-life settings.
