In this course, we will explore many different areas of cellular biology, including the formation and function of bio-macromolecules; regulation of gene expression; membrane and organelle structure and function; bioenergetics; cell cycle, and cellular communications. We will discuss how cellular activities and signaling pathways participate in the mechanisms of relevant human disorders. We will also emphasize developing critical thinking processes and increasing proficiency in scientific reading in the course.
- Course ObjectiveUnderstand the basic concepts of cell biology covered in lectures.
- Course RequirementA general biology course is a prerequisite.
- Expected weekly study hours after class
- Office Hour
